The ground floor features a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, creating a welcoming space to gather together. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay, while the cosy living area provides the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. For added convenience, the cottage also includes a washing machine and tumble dryer, making longer stays effortless.
Upstairs, you'll find three beautifully presented bedrooms designed with comfort in mind. Two bedrooms feature luxurious king-size beds, while the third offers a double bed with a convenient pull-out single bed beneath, making it ideal for families or additional guests.
Outside, a large grassed area at the front of the cottage offers plenty of space for children to play and for well-behaved dogs to enjoy the fresh country air. Whether you're seeking a tranquil escape, outdoor adventures, or quality time with loved ones, Hind Cottage provides the ideal setting for a memorable Yorkshire getaway.

In the Area
Hind Cottage is situated between the Yorkshire Wolds villages of Shiptonthorpe and Middleton on the Wolds and is perfectly placed to explore East and North Yorkshire’s cities, countryside and coastlines.
We’re only 20 miles away from Hull, 22 miles from York and 23 miles from the East Yorkshire coast at Bridlington.

Additional Information
The barn is surrounded by mature woodland and is a haven for wildlife including bats, buzzards, red kites, hares and hedgehogs. There is a 150 year old dew pond to the front that is home to frogs and snails. We are currently undergoing renovations of this pond and a pond to the rear of the farmstead in hope of encouraging further wildlife to make it home.
East Yorkshire is blessed with host of great restaurants, artisan producers and independent shops and home deliveries can be made to Kipling House Barn by supermarkets and local, independent retailers including Rafters greengrocers and butcher, F.Leake. Check out our recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area, including the Yorkshire Wolds and coast, East and North Yorkshire’s picturesque towns and villages, the historic city of York and the former fishing port of Hull.
Traveling with Little Ones
We welcome families with young children and can provide up to two travel cots with mattresses, as well as a highchair, upon request. Please note that cot linen and bedding are not provided, so guests will need to bring their own.
